Club News for April 2013

This month I have some very important dates for you as follows:

Shinfield Rangers FC – Annual General Meeting – Wednesday May 1st 2013 19:45 for 20:00 start at The Parish Room, Radstock Community Centre, Radstock Lane, Earley, Reading RG6 5UZ

Anyone over 16 years old and affiliated to the club is welcome to attend.

The Minutes from last year’s AGM and the agenda will be posted on the website in advance
of the meeting. Elections for Committee roles will take place on the night. Anyone wishing to
stand as a new member of the Committee should contact the Club Secretary by Wednesday
24th April 2013. The names of members standing for re-election, along with any new nominees
will be posted on the website prior to the meeting. There will be an opportunity for questions on
the night but it would be helpful if these could be submitted in advance to the Club Secretary.

Shinfield Rangers FC – Annual Presentation Day and 40th Anniversary Party – Sunday 9th June
2013

10.30am start at Millworth Lane, Shinfield, Reading RG2 9EN

This will be a day of celebration for all the children and adults associated with the club. All
children registered with the club are invited to attend from 10.30am and each will be awarded a
trophy. There will be a BBQ, loads of fun activities, football matches (all parents are invited to
play) and some special guest appearances from……well, I’m not telling you just yet !

We are still looking to appoint a sponsor for this event – so if you run a local business and
would like to get involved, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please note that we’re
planning for local and national media coverage of this event that should cover all media
platforms including TV and Radio – so there’s a real opportunity here.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Will Prowse for all his hard work over the
last few years as Manager and Coach of what is now our fabulously talented U14 squad. Will,
Raymond, Carl and the boys have managed to achieve back-to-back promotions in the past 2
seasons and look likely to do so again this season. They also had a major Cup win last year.
If Will had achieved the same success in professional football he would be feted as the best
manager on the planet. I’m pleased that he’ll still be coming to training and all the matches, but
now as a ‘Dad’ – and would like to wish him luck from everyone at the Club in his new career
as a secondary school teacher.
