Shinfield Rangers FC has achieved the Football Association’s highest accolade in grassroots football by being awarded Charter Standard Community Club status. Shinfield Rangers FC Chairman, James Roth, said:
“This award recognises the outstanding achievements of the volunteer managers, coaches and assistants who run our squads. It will help us to expand the work we do to provide a safe, fun and educational environment for boys and girls and enable them to develop their confidence, improve and maintain fitness and enjoy playing football. This award also enables us to broaden our work within schools and the wider community.”
The Community Club status is the pinnacle of the FA Charter Standard pyramid with only a few clubs holding the award nationally. It’s a kite mark that reflects on high standards combined with excellent organisation and planning.

On 1 April, the Charter Standard Community Club award was presented to Shinfield Rangers Football Club on their Home ground at Millworth Lane by UllaKarin Clark, the Mayor of Wokingham. Other guests included Angus Ross and colleagues, Wokingham Borough Council; Chris Gunter, Reading FC; Ian Clarke, Shinfield Parish Council. Following the presentation our Under 12s played an entertaining league match against Darby Green & Potley Dynamos whilst some of our younger teams had training sessions.
