The under 12’s took part in only their second ever Futsal Competition at Crosfields School. Futsal is a fast and fun game played indoors and is the only indoor form of Football backed by FIFA and the FA. Futsal is game that encourages development of close control and good ball skills.
We played 3 games against teams who play Futsal on a regular basis, and we were given a lesson in how to play the game.
But as these players are proving week in, week out, in the East Berks League they learn quickly. We went into the last game, the third place play off without any expectation, but to try to enjoy the game.
The boys seemed to suddenly realise that to win they had to give nothing away and try to pick off a goal when they got the chance. And sure enough they produced to get a commendable 1-0 win.
